At San Joaquin TOB, we share the beauty of Theology of the Body to help reveal the inherent dignity of every person, the sacredness of sexual union, and the sacramental nature of marriage between one man and one woman.
Between 1979 and 1984, Pope St. John Paul II delivered a series of Wednesday audiences that eventually became known as the Theology of the Body (TOB). This profound teaching takes us back to the beginning, before sin entered the world to remind us that God created us in His image. TOB is crucial today for several reasons, especially in a culture that often contradicts God's original plan for human relationships and sexuality. We are called to make a gift of ourselves to others, mirroring God's self-giving love. This counters the culture of selfishness and individualism, promoting authentic love and self-giving.
